The compact, pocket-sized pH\u00a0measuring device BW10 is suited just as well for aquarium and plant enthusiasts as it is for owners of a swimming pool. But the BW10 also makes a reliable companion for applications in the professional sector, e.g. measuring pH\u00a0values for quality inspections in the food and beverage industry or for a quick and reliable assessment of the water quality.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

In recent years natural ponds have become increasingly popular. As a rule, they are in a state of ecological balance and can do without chemical additives. However, unwelcome surprises can be avoided by checking the pH\u00a0value on a regular basis. Rain or a top-up with tap water can always cause the pH\u00a0value to drift off into the acidic (pH\u00a0<\u00a07) or alkaline (pH\u00a0>\u00a07) range. The range of tolerance for fish is between pH\u00a06.5 and 8.5. Ideally the pH\u00a0value of the pond water should amount to approx. pH\u00a07 (neutral) and remain as steady as possible.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

But it is also vital to observe and thus regularly monitor the correct pH\u00a0value in swimming pools, especially when located outdoors. Should the water become too acidic or alkaline, it not only has an adverse effect on the bathers (stinging eyes, itching).
