Il fonctionne selon le principe de condensation. Un ventilateur aspire l&rsquo;air humide dans le d\u00e9shumidificateur et le fait passer \u00e0 travers un \u00e9vaporateur. En passant par l&rsquo;\u00e9vaporateur, l&rsquo;air est refroidi jusqu&rsquo;\u00e0 une temp\u00e9rature inf\u00e9rieure \u00e0 son point de ros\u00e9e. La vapeur d&rsquo;eau qu&rsquo;il contient se condense en eau. L&rsquo;eau tombe dans le bac de r\u00e9cup\u00e9ration, puis est \u00e9vacu\u00e9e vers un drain. L&rsquo;air froid et sec passe ensuite par le serpentin du condenseur o\u00f9 il est r\u00e9chauff\u00e9, avant de quitter l&rsquo;appareil \u00e0 une temp\u00e9rature sup\u00e9rieure d&rsquo;environ 5 \u00b0C \u00e0 celle \u00e0 l&rsquo;entr\u00e9e.
