Description

Mobile, modular, multifunctional – a platform for all data and application scenarios

Data availability is the basis for optimising processes and the operation of technical plants. So far, stand-alone solutions with lacking compatibility or complex application know-how have been opposed to user-friendly applications that can be flexibly combined, even by craft businesses and smaller industrial companies.

TTSL® closes this gap and makes a large variety of different sensor data at any site available quickly and easily – without any specialist expertise being required, without the need for a fully-fledged company network and tedious IoT projects.
TTSL® is a modular, cloud-based complete system with all components that you require for the purpose of measurement data acquisition: various sensors and interfaces, large-range gateways and user-friendly applications for starting up and configuring your system as well as for storing, analysing and documenting your measurement data.

The TTSL® platform – gateway, multiMeasure cloud, sensor technology and connectivity – provides flexible application scenarios easily via plug & play, for telemonitoring, telecontrol, analysis and documentation of your machines and processes. Whether water damage restoration, building technology or industrial production – all measured values and machine information are made available to you in a blink via multiMeasure cloud on a PC or smartphone.

Designed for professional requirements, applicable for a variety of different sectors

The mobile usability and modular design of the TTSL system makes its application feasible for a large variety of user groups and tasks thanks to the plug & play functionality.

Water damage restoration companies Require a variably usable system for the remote monitoring of active construction sites. With TTSL, the climate data can be called on site from the office PC or via app, power consumption data can be recorded, drying processes analysed, archived and documented.

TTSL accepts all monitoring tasks of your drying installations, alerts you around the clock in the event of any problems and automatically indicates that the drying process has been completed and the devices can be dismounted – this makes cost-intensive intermediate measurements by service technicians redundant. In addition, the system can output an alarm message immediately in the event of a machine standstill or power failure.

Via the cloud application MultiMeasure centre, yourself and your authorised employees always have all installations and processes in view from any terminal device and can generate professional process reports for customers and insurances. And by means of TTSL® MultiStat, devices connected to TTSL® can also be switched on or off directly via cloud.

Machine rental companies benefit from a flexibly usable tool for checking the use of their machines rented. Remote monitoring supplies all required measurement data and provides easy support in the event of operational problems, for example if the tank of construction site heatings with oil heaters is empty.

Manufacturing companies using TTSL® are provided with a practical solution for retrofitting existing machines with state-of-the-art IoT sensor technology for automated machine monitoring including the recording of production data and the machine status or for the monitoring of processes.

How does TTSL® work?

TTSL® sensors can record a variety of measured variables directly on site. For connection of the sensors specifically required for a project, various sensor boxes with specific interfaces are provided. The sensor boxes are connected to the TTSL gateway via cables. At regular intervals, the data recorded are transmitted via GSM to the Trotec cloud application MultiMeasure centre, which can be called by means of the desktop PC or app. The MultiMeasure centre can also serve to transmit remote commands to the TTSL gateway, for example updated alarm limit values or requests for machine switch-off.

Schematic view of a TTSL installation

Basic installation:

The centrepiece of the TTSL basic installation is provided by the TTSL® CB (Communication Bridge). The TTSL® CB comes equipped with all interfaces for connecting the TTSL®-SB sensor boxes required and for GSM data transmission to the cloud. For collecting data on just one measuring site, the use of one single TTSL® CB is sufficient.

Enhanced installation:

If several measuring sites are to be monitored, one or several TTSL® MB are additionally installed and connected to the sensor system required. In this case, the TTSL® MB serves as a data logger for measured value data logging of the sensors connected. At freely definable intervals, each TTSL® MB transmits its data via ISM radio to the TTSL® CB installed, which collects any data of all TTSL® MB and automatically sends them to the cloud.

Simple installation and start-up

All TTSL® components are provided with a QR code that can be read in via MultiMeasure centre app. In this course, each box and each sensor can be individually named, and the whole installation can be assigned to a project. Once all data have been stored, the system is ready for use.

Just scan the QR code and integrate the component into a project

MultiMeasure centre client app

With the client app, TTSL® installations can be easily configured on the spot and transferred to the cloud. For this purpose, all TTSL® measuring and sensor boxes are equipped with an individual QR code which is simply read in via the app. In this course, the individual components can then be named, assigned to projects, or new projects can be created, as desired.

Furthermore, authorised users can access the current project data or machine statuses from anywhere and at any time, process sequences can be monitored and changes to projects can be made.

TTSL® CB

As a communication interface to the cloud, the TTSL® CB (Communication Bridge) manages all TTSL® components connected, serves as a buffer to collect all measured data recorded and automatically sends these data to the cloud.

A simple 4-key control allows for configuration of the TTSL® CB quickly and without any difficulty. The integrated display with its integrated four-colour background illumination providing for a quick, optical response of the operating status ensures a high-contrast indication even in daylight.

The TTSL® CB is not only equipped with four 5-pole quick coupling sockets for the connection to various TTSL¸-SB sensor boxes, but also features interfaces for Ethernet, ISM and GSM.

For more complex multi-installations, data exchange takes place with further installed TTSL®-MB measurement boxes via ISM – up to 63 further TSL®-MB measurement boxes can be integrated into the installation by one single TTSL® CB via ISM radio.

And the TTSL® CB automatically connects with the cloud via the mobile network. Standard modules are GSM 2G/3G, but there are also other modules that can be assembled on request. TTSL® CB is supplied without a SIM card, thus making it possible for customers to use any SIM card provider.

The TTSL® CB is supplied with power via the power adapter supplied – also for the corded TTSL®-SB sensor boxes. Buffer supply is ensured by two integrated batteries (2.6 Ah).

The robust housing that is provided with edge protectors is multi-stackable and, thanks to the IP68 type of protection, can also be easily used in rough construction site environments.

TTSL® MB

As data logger, the TTSL® MB (Measurement Bridge) collects all measured values of the connected sensor boxes for retrieval by the TTSL® CB. Several TTSL® MB can be installed in parallel on site and managed by one TTSL® CB.

A simple 4-key control allows for configuration of the TTSL® MB quickly and without any difficulty. The integrated display with its integrated four-colour background illumination providing for a quick, optical response of the operating status ensures a high-contrast indication even in daylight.

Except for the GSM interface, the TTSL® MB is almost identical in terms of design to the TTSL® CB and also accommodates four 5-pole quick coupling sockets for the connection of various TTSL®-SB sensor boxes as well as an Ethernet and ISM interface.

The TTSL® MB is supplied with power via the power adapter supplied – also for the corded TTSL®-SB sensor boxes. Buffer supply is ensured by two integrated batteries (2.6 Ah).

TTSL® SB

The TTSL®-SB sensor boxes are designed as a link between the sensor system used and the data-storing measurement boxes. The sensor box processes the incoming signals and transmits them to the measurement boxes connected, in order to be stored and forwarded to the cloud.

The advantage is perfectly obvious: Instead of equipping every sensor box with all electronic equipment that is possibly required to process any sensor signals, each one of the TTSL®-SB sensor boxes is designed to be a specialist for a specific selection of sensor types. In this way, users can benefit from a cost-effective system that is easy to handle and at the same time can be individually adapted to every situation.

Every TTSL® MB/CB can be connected with several TTSL®-SB sensor boxes which are provided with various interfaces for connecting a variety of different sensors. In order to offer a maximum possible selection of sensors to be used, three different TTSL®-SB sensor boxes are available.

All sensor boxes come equipped with a 5-pole quick coupling socket at the rear

for connection to a TTSL® CB or TTSL® MB via cable. The cable connection offers the advantage of permanently stable data transfer and continuous power supply at the same time.

All sensor boxes feature two plug-on protectors at the sides with integrated recesses for stacking and type of protection IP68, allowing for trouble-free application even under the roughest ambient conditions.

TTSL® SB-C

The TTSL®-SB-C sensor box offers two connection options for a variety of different sensor types:

Any industrial sensors or signal transmitters with a 4…20-mA output can be connected to the 4-pole quick coupling socket in position X2, thus allowing for a large variety of applications, for example the recording of pressure values, output of electricity/active power, target and actual values or numerous other applications. For wiring with the desired pulse generator, a 5-core connecting cable with a one-sided quick coupling plug in the standard length of 5 m is available.

The 4-pole quick coupling socket in position X3 serves to connect sensors with I2C log, for instance, the Trotec combi sensor for determining the room temperature and humidity level, the Trotec tank filling level sensor or the Trotec-Pt1000 contact temperature sensor.

Like all sensor boxes, the TTSL® SB-C is provided with a quick coupling socket at the front on position X1, which serves to establish a cable connection with the data-receiving TTSL® MB/CB and which also supplies it with power.

The TTSL®-SB-C features two plug-on protectors at the sides with integrated recesses for stacking and is characterised by type of protection IP68, allowing for trouble-free application even under the roughest ambient conditions.

TTSL® SB-M

The TTSL®-SB-M sensor box comes equipped with a BNC connection for establishing a cable connection with all Trotec measuring electrodes for material and building moisture measurement. The TTSL® borehole probe can also be connected to this sensor box. The only item required for this purpose is the TC20 connecting cable from the Trotec product range. The measured values are output in digits of 0 to 100.

Like all sensor boxes, the TTSL® SB-M is provided with a quick coupling socket at the front on position X1, which serves to establish a cable connection with the data-receiving TTSL® MB/CB and which also supplies it with power.

TTSL® SB-XIO

The TTSL®-SB-XIO sensor box offers two connection options for various signal transmitters, a 5-pole quick coupling socket on position X1 and an 8-pole quick coupling socket on position X2.

Via these two connections, any industrial sensors or signal transmitters can be connected or machine control units for detecting the desired signals. The following interfaces are available for this:

  • Radio ISM 868/915 MHz
  • Radio Bluetooth LE
  • RS485 Modbus
  • I2C for sensors
  • Analog & digital IO:
    4 x Digital IN 9..24V
2 x Digital OUT 9..24V (relay control unit)
    1 x Analog IN 0..10V

For wiring with the desired pulse generator, 5- and 8-core connecting cables with a one-sided quick coupling plug are available.

For direct DIN rail mounting of the TTSL® SB-XIO to the machine the data of which are to be read, a screw-on DIN rail holder is also optionally available.

Communication with the data-receiving TTSL® MB/CB in the case of the TTSL® SB-XIO takes place without a cable via ISM radio, and the power supply is either established via host or via battery backup for 24 hours.

The TTSL®-SB-XIO features two plug-on protectors at the sides with integrated recesses for stacking and is characterised by type of protection IP68, allowing for trouble-free application even under the roughest ambient conditions.
